My name is Mike, it’s not Mel. No one has ever called me Mel, though I give the name “Sharples” when I order a pizza.  I’m a wannabe cook who would hate the heat and the hours of a professional kitchen, so I cook at home and write about it.  I’m married to a wonderful lady I call She Who Must Be Obeyed with two – very often – great kids.  I’m currently living in New Hampshire with no desire to leave (for now) my tax free haven, though a few more specialty food stores wouldn’t hurt.  I’m a fan of eating locally and of grass-fed beef.

  2. Hey Mike – This is AWESOME! I’ve made you a favorite. I had absolutely no idea you were such a foodee. I envy your children for the feasts you create. Sigh. Have they any idea how good they have it??

    Keep on cookin, my friend. I’m certainly stealing several recipes….sadly, my cooking time is attenuated now that I’m working. But you’ve inspired me!
