HARVEST TIME!

Why do I love this time of year? This is why! This is a tomato I pulled from the ripening table because it had a scare and was getting fruit-fly-ish. I just cut the scar and stem out and cut it for a salad.

JUST LOOK AT IT!

My name is Mike, it’s not Mel. No one has ever called me Mel, though I give the name “Sharples” when I order a pizza. I’m a wannabe cook who would hate the heat and the hours of a professional kitchen, so I cook at home and write about it. I’m married to a wonderful lady I call She Who Must Be Obeyed with two - very often – great kids. I’m currently living in New Hampshire with no desire to leave (for now) my tax free haven, though a few more specialty food stores wouldn’t hurt. I’m a fan of eating locally and of grass-fed beef.
